Where are the spices for unspiced foods?

I have been told that the Drug Emporium in Charleston is adding a cheese counter in the near future. I’ll keep you posted.

For the love of god(s), put a Whole Foods in West Virginia.

John Mackey, you might be an anti-union libertarian vegan nutjob with what I could charitably describe as a non-mainstream view of business ethics, but I wil cheerfully donate you my firstborn if you open a Whole Foods in Charleston. (Sure, Huntington would be nice, but Charleston makes more sense for everyone.)

Seriously. I found myself walking round the Cincy branch on Saturday carefully considering the logistics of switching out our weekly grocery shop with a biweekly four-hour roundtrip to the Lexington store. And I still haven’t quite abandoned that idea.

Update: With the loss of the International Market, Kroger is now the best place to find rice noodles around here.
Not an easy task. Let me save you the trouble. If you’re craving Pad Thai, and you don’t want to drive to the Thai House in Dunbar for your fix, head for the International Market, on Rt. 60 just on the outskirts of Huntington. As we discovered a week or two ago, it’s the only place for some distance where you can find these flat, slightly glutinous treats.
